Bulletin #29, July 2017

Notts Trans Hub belongs to the whole trans community. We work hard to ensure the consultation and inclusion of diverse and marginalised voices, and our aim is to provide service to the community rather than leadership of the community. We encourage everyone to take ownership of this resource, and to use it to bring people together for mutual aid, awareness and understanding.

Trans Space Notts (TSN) next meets 3rd July, 7-9

A semi-structured support group for all people who self-identify under the trans umbrella and those who support them further details here.

Topics for the meeting: (Meeting format). We will pick 3 from the following topics: Feeling out of space or alienated; Depiction in the media; Coping methods for dysphoria; Practical self-care; Coming out

Trans Meet Up, 18 July, 7-9

The informal trans meet-up/social is always 3rd Tuesday of the month.  Open to all trans people and Significant Others, Friends, Family and Allies (SOFFAs), meet upstairs at Broadway bar.

Divercity – LGBT Lives, Five Leaves Bookshop, 25 July, 7pm

Researchers at Middlesex University have been researching the lives of LGBT people in Nottingham. At this session the researchers will present their initial findings

New Top Tips Documents for trans and LGB+ people

Produced by EMAHSN in consultation with community members, these documents are available in print and audio form to help services improve their competence

Research

Kate Arnold at the University of Nottingham is looking for trans, non-binary and gender non-conforming people (18+) to interview re research about their experiences of all aspects of the healthcare system.  email for info.
